March is Endometriosis Awareness Month

Please don’t forget that I keep having these fantastic laparoscopy surgeries because I have endometriosis.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, endometriosis is a chronic illness.  There is no cure.  The surgeries I have and tablets I take are mere pain management tools.  Even if I have a hysterectomy, it will be a mere pain management technique (and a drastic one that I cannot quite stomach yet)!

  1. Foxy,

Thank you for reiterating the fact that there is no cure for endometriosis. Even a hysterectomy is not a cure. Too many are led into believing so, take irreversible plunge, and then are severely disappointing when it comes back.

  2. Hi Carol
Thanks very much for getting in touch. I am delighted to support any organisation that helps keep us informed. Thankfully there are a number of charities that can help us. I’m a member of Endometriosis UK and they can be found at:

  3. Thanks Endochick for getting in touch. I’m terrified of getting a hysterectomy – mainly because it is, as you say, an irreversible plunge and there is no guarantee that it will alleviate my symptoms. I hope you are keeping well.
